Bollywood celebrities Hrithik Roshan, Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar, shine at special preview of  Salaam, Noni Appa at the Royal Opera House and this what they have to say about it.

“Just as my novel ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’ is crossing landmark sales again, I get the news that Salaam, Noni Appa is going to be turned into a play. Hurrah!”, Twinkle Khanna aka Mrs Funnybones, who recently bagged the coveted ‘India Today Woman Writer of the Year 2017’ for her bestseller ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’, stated on social media.

The celebrated columnist, actor, novelist had further added, “Salaam, Noni Appa is very close to my heart and I am looking forward to seeing all the characters come alive on stage under Lillette Dubey’s deft direction”.

Post watching a special preview of Salaam, Noni Appa at the Royal Opera House with Family consisting of Mother Dimple Kapadia, Husband Akshay Kumar and Son Aarav, Twinkle was emotional. “I am still a little dazed. The character has lived in my head for over two decades have come alive on stage so beautifully. It is marvelous and I am gratified and really happy”, said Twinkle Khanna.

Salaam, Noni Appa is a beautiful tale of a woman finding love in the autumn of her life. The story celebrates feminism and unleashes the freedom to embrace different choices.

Lillette Dubey has essayed the lead along with Darshan Jariwala, Jayati Bhatia, Meher Dar and Rishi Khurana, ensuring a power packed performance. The stage screenplay is penned by Adhir Bhatt.

“It is very beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed it”, added Akshay Kumar, while Hrithik Roshan admitted that he is amazed. “They were such amazing actors. All of them were so incredible and amazing. I enjoyed this play so much. I am so glad. Twinkle is just so brilliant and I am so happy for everyone in this play. Everyone has done an incredible job. I have laughed so much in this play with teary eyes. It was wonderful, just wonderful”.

‘’I think it is a wonderful study of characters. It is a beautiful slice of life and a very touching story” said Kabir Bedi, adding plays are very close to his heart as it was during a play that he met his wife Parveen Dusanj.

“It is a very special moment for me. Salaam, Noni Appa is the best story in the book, the legend of Lakshmi Prasad. It is a story of a beautiful relationship between two people. You can actually picturise it. So wittily done, so touching, yet funny” said director R. Balki, who made the legendary Paa with Amitabh Bachchan.

“It is a very quiet slice of life kind of a play. It does not create conflict or melodrama just for the sake of it. It is like a gentle stream” felt veteran actor Darshan Jarivala, who essays the lead along with Lillette Dubey in the play.

Presented by Fabindia as India’s largest theatre tour, the actors donning their earthy, understated garments matches the sensibilities of the play.
