In what is being talked about as one of the most comprehensive effort at fighting and ending gender violence, leading singers of Bollywood – Armaan Malik, Harshdeep Kaur, Salim-Sulaiman, Sukriti Kakkar and Akriti Kakkar will be joining Farhan Akhtar to raise the ‘Lalkar’ against gender violence. This concert will be held on November 21st, 2017 at the Bandra Amphitheatre in Mumbai. The entry is open to all.
Many Bollywood celebrities are also expected to grace the occasion. This is part of the ‘Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya (Enough is Enough!)’ campaign that was initiated by the Population Foundation of India (PFI), well-known director Feroz Abbas Khan and Farhan Akhtar’s MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination).
Poonam Muttreja, Executive Director, Population Foundation of India (PFI) adds, “For a very long time, we have been talking about violence against women and making policies and laws to prevent it. Though this was essential, now its high time to execute those as well. And now we have India’s finest singers on-board to take this message to the youth.”
